Wow. The Lord has moved so big in my fundraising process already. He has provided time and time again even in the midst of my doubt. In the beginning, I honestly had no idea how I was going to be able to fundraise over $15,000 over the course of a couple months and quite honestly my heart was not in the right place. Once God pulled me out of that place of pride (and he still refines me in that area every single day), I was able to fundraise with a heart of excitement and knowing that fundraising was a chance to talk about how Jesus is moving! Since then, the journey of fundraising began.
The first fundraiser I did was the adopt-a-box and WOW did the Lord show up through that. In just 24 hours, God provided over $900 towards the mission through the generous hearts of friends, friends of friends, coworkers, families, and so many others. I knew this was just the beginning of this journey of fundraising though. Over the summer my mom and I put together 2 yard sales. Amazing friends and coworkers donated bags of clothes and items for us to sell at this yard sale and I am forever thankful for those kind people who helped in such a big way. The first fundraiser we raised close to $500 dollars in less than 5 hours. Isn’t that insane?! My sweet granny two states away put on a yard sale with her church and raised $700!! That taught me a huge lesson about the importance of community and that the Lord moves even when I don’t see it. And those things were just the tip of the iceberg! God has been so so sweet to me throughout this fundraising process and I am so grateful to be able to go on this mission and be able to include you guys in God’s work.
That being said, I still have around $6,000 to raise until I am fully funded and I am pumped to see how the Lord moves through the rest of this journey! If you feel led to donate in any way, please know that literally every dollar counts and is immensely, immensely appreciated. I appreciate you guys so much for your support thus far and I ask that you continue to pray for me, my team, my leaders, the people we will be meeting, and everyone in between. Thank you for the love <3
I’m going to end this with some scripture that has been on my heart these past few days since I have begun my race that has encouraged me and I pray it encourages you as well 🙂
Lamentations 3:22-27
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
For his compassions never fail.
They are made new every morning;
Great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
Therefore I will wait for Him”
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
To the one who seeks him;
It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.
Thank you for hearing my heart and some of my story so far, cannot wait to share stories as my race continues 🙂 Love y’all so much<3
